Wisdom Insight Letter No. 181
Satipatthana 98: Dhammanupassana 3: Five Categories of Observation of Dhamma in the Great Satipatthana-sutta 법념처[法念處] 수행
We briefly introduce the five categories of observation on Dhamma that the Buddha presents in the Great Thought Sutra as a direct method for achieving nirvana.
① Awareness the five obstacles
② Awareness the five aggregates of attachments
③ Awareness of the six internal and six external sensory places [十二處]
④ Awareness the seven elements of enlightenment
⑤ Awareness the Four Noble Truths
Dhamma observation includes all the elements of overall practice, and the four observation practices, Satipatthana, are manifestations of Buddha's enlightenment. The teachings he has preached for 45 years since his enlightenment are integrated here.
In these letters, the overall structure is introduced, but in the future, little by little, direct meditation methods will be discussed.
To be continued…
May you be well and happy! May all practice well and reach to Magga (道, the path of enlightenment) and Phala (果, the fruit of enlightenment)!
